BREAKING-NNAMDI KANU: 3 JUSTICES AT APPEAL COURT TRANSFERED

3 Justices on Appeal Court panel transferred

This news report according Vanguard says the three justices that sat on the Appeal Court which quashed charges preferred by Federal Government against Nnamdi Kanu had been transferred to different locations.

The three members appellate court panel of justices which was made up of  the presiding judge Justice Jummai Hanatu Sankey who was hitherto in Gombe was moved to Awka division, Justice Oludotun Adetope-Okojie who delivered the lead judgement was moved to Owerri while the third member of the panel Justice Ebiowei Tobi was transferred to Gombe.

This was four days after the judgement was delivered by them which was according to the memo dated 17th October, 2022. And they were to resume duties at their various new posting on 21st October according to the report.

Recall that federal government had immediately approached the Apex Court upon the appeal ruling to set aside the judgment delivered by the appeal court on the ground that they erred in the judgment.

Meanwhile Appeal Court had the ruled that manner in which Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was brought to the country contravenes all international laws and treaties to which Nigeria is signatory to and hence violated the rights of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and by extension voided every other charges preferred against him by the federal government.

The supreme court is to hold session over the case file by the federal government today being 24th October, 2022.

To me, this reposting by appeal court president might not have been unconnected to the ruling by the justices and I feel it is a way of telling the world that they ought have been biased in delivery of justice. This is form of intimidation to serve as deterring to any judge intending to deliver unbiased judgement.
