BREAKING OIL THEFT NEWS: TOMPOLO'S MEN ARREST SEVEN OIL SYNDICATES, REJECTS BRIBE
EVERYDAY FOR THE THIEF, ONE DAY FOR THE OWNER
There have been several news reports in various corners how the Nigerian Crude oil is being stolen by organized criminals at various fronts.
In the recent develop bothering on oil theft, Vanguard News reports that Tantita; the security of outfit belonging the Ex-Niger DELTA militant Government Ekpemupolo which was recently awarded a N4Billion monthly contract by the federal government intercepted a ship loading up crude oil in Delta state at the Chevron terminal through an illegal channel attached to a main pipeline on the 6th of October, 2022.
It was gathered that the ship which was sometimes in September 2021 caught by security operatives but was later released as the documents availability says. Meanwhile, the same Captain in the ship who now denied being involved in the operation was the same person who manned the ship as at the time of the earlier arrest.
According the report, the Captain whose name is Temple Manaseh from Bayelsa state claimed he joined the team few months ago and that he was hijacked for the operation by the 7 boys he was caught with, nevertheless, it was through him that their boss wanted the Tantita Security operatives bribed in dollars worth about 25million Naira which they rejected.
It was equally reported that the ship was converted into an ocean vessel which was a smart move they have been using to evade security operatives.
As at the time they were caught through an ambush laid by the Tantita security operatives, they had already pump about 650 cubic meters of oil into the vessel. The report also had it that all those caught were Nigerians and that the ship has always frequented through Nigeria waters loading crude oil to Ghana.
They have have not been able to name those behind them but the information says they have been handed over with their vessels to JTF and now cooling off in their barracks.
