Image

He had a brief banter with the bike mechanic and left to print what brought him to a cyber Cafe. After collecting billions of naira, the INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, personally called the Abia State Returning Officer, Professor Nnenna Oti and gave her "directives on guidelines to follow in ensuring that Abia governorship election results were collated based on some criteria." She flatly refused to follow those guidelines, but maintained that the will of the people must be upheld. She even asked the Administrative Secretary to read the message she received from the INEC headquarters Abuja. Prof. Oti has proven that Returning Officers can actually do their jobs and save democracy without fear or favour.
